Patience and God’s steady growth produce success
A female believer, have kept herself undefiled up to the time she finished her university education and obtained a degree. In her quest for job, the condition put before her to be employed was to fornicate. As a true child of God, she should know that this kind job is not her type.

If she falls for this temptation, she may or may not get the job. If she is lucky to get the job, she will soon be fired by the time a more admiring female apply for the same position. The female believer should know that this is devil at work and she needs to move forward by looking for Job somewhere else. She needs to approach her quest through prayer for God to direct her.

When you are desperate to accomplish a goal, devil likes to take the advantage of that situation.
The Bible declared-

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us:
for we are not ignorant of his devices. (2Cor. 2:11)

Many believers who have struggled for years to accomplish a set goal missed it at the very point of achieving their goals; the devil sets a “second best” (unrighteous or illegitimate success) before them. For lack of patience, many believers have fallen for it.

The unrighteous success placed before them by the devil is to replace a genuine one, which God had prepared for them. By the time they realized that the devil had deceived them, he (devil) would have finished his work of robbing them of their genuine success.

Many Israelites were impatient in the wilderness, that was why they kept falling back into sin, defiling themselves, murmuring, committing whoredom and did all profane things to vex the Lord. They fell into diverse temptations and failed to enter the promise land: All because they were not patient enough with God’s steady growth.

Many believers at the full realization of their mistakes turn around to blame God or someone else for their failure.  It is unchristian as seen in many believers today the level of lack of patience they exercised when pursuing an undertaking. Many believers have been distracted by side attractions or have taken a short cut and have failed.

The right attitude to accomplishing a goal is through prayer and fasting, it is a sign of humbling oneself before God. Any success is a miracle and it needs a miraculous turn around; which is achievable mostly through prayer and fasting. Our Lord Jesus Christ confirms this that miracle can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting (Mk. 9:29).

Beware; give no occasion for the devil to tempt you with its enticements. When you pursue an undertaking, at the nearness to accomplishing that goal, you will feel or smell it. You know then that you are nearer to your success than when you started. It is right for believers to be a little patient and wait for God’s perfection.

The Bible admonishes
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass” (Ps. 37:7).

To His Kingdom

When the Israelites left Egypt, their focal point was the promise land, to be a free nation serving the Lord. At different times and at different point between Egypt and Canaan land, they encountered many difficulties, among which are-

·       Natural barriers and obstacles – the Red Sea and the Jordan River

·       Lacks – water, food, and meat

·       Confrontation and oppositions – close relations and nations

Difficulties of this nature create fear and unbelief, thus the negative attractions change focus. Rather than believing in God and focusing on how to be successful, ability turns to disability.

Christian Business Tip –

The path to achieving any goal in life is not very rosy. A similitude of what happened to the Israelites in the wilderness happens to every process of any undertaking in life. Therefore, in the transitional period of your business, you are going to face difficulties, obstacles, challenges, confrontations, antagonism, even persecution. However, with your reliance on God and unshaken faith in your goal, you need to remain focus.

Another illustration shows our Lord Jesus Christ walking on the water; Peter wanted to do the same. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and began to sink, (Matt. 14:26-30).

What happened to Peter here is exactly what causes many undertakings or businesses to fail. At first, when Peter started to walk on the sea, he was focusing on Jesus who had permitted him to walk. However, immediately he shifted his eyes away from Jesus and beheld the boisterous wind, he started sinking. If he had stayed focused looking onto Jesus Christ and kept on walking, he would not have sunk.

When we have a goal, there is bound to be problems, seen and unseen situations will generate and cause fear. Our focus should not be on the problem, but on where we are going. For sure, problems will pop up from time to time, we have to deal with them as they come and take it off our way in order to be able to press forward.

If you think you will accomplish a thing without a problem, you are joking. You will not because of a problem to start thinking negatively or losing your faith or shifting your reliance from God to earthly help. Your dream, your vision, your goal or your undertaking is priority in order for you to succeed.

Success Requires Focusing

There are problems, which you do not have the power to overcome, commit such problems to the judgment of God and keep moving. Do not allow others wicked scheme discourage you from achieving success through the right path.
Do not allow anxiety to distract your mind from staying focused, especially, when you lack something.
Do not allow sentiment into your business. Associations and attachments are expert in discouraging and despising and can distract you, debar you or delay your achievement. They are destiny killers.
Beware of misinformation or evil report concerning your intended mission or goal; this would slow down your progress. Do not allow any evil report to distract you from being focus.
Distractions are what will not allow you to be focus. Lack of focus, springs up attitude and behavior that is opposing to the will of God.

Whatever the nature of that distraction, remember to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher (perfecter) of our faith (Heb. 12:2). Stay focus and endure the pressure, which the distraction may put on you. At the end, when you are successful, there lies sweetness. That is the reward of being focus.

“And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;

And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship…” (Ex. 35:30-35)

Every man is endowed with a special gift or spirit to engage in a particular profession by the spirit of the almighty God. God gives unique ability through the Holy Spirit, talent of all kinds is a divine gift, and He created man as His own carbon copy with aesthetic faculties.

Reach Your Full Potential

As a talent artisan, you are likely to perform better in that area than to being a lawyer. Likewise, if you are good in argumentation, you will probably be better as a lawyer or a politician than being a medical doctor or a technician. Every gift is given from above; you need to discover yours. Do not operate in the wrong field.

Case scenario

There was a time in Nigeria, during the cocoa booming era of late 1980’s to early 2000’s. Cocoa trade went into the open market and became profitable to the license buyers as well as the farmers. The price of cocoa skyrocketed and cocoa merchants were making huge profit within and outside the country.

Within a year or two, many business merchants and many who are novice in the world of business engaged in cocoa trade. Fraudsters also came in as mix-multitude to defraud those who thought of making fast money in the new “gold rush”. If you are a novice and you know nothing about cocoa or whatever business, and you invest your money in it, you are likely going to end up buying substandard or fall into the hands of the fraudsters.

Another transaction in the cocoa business involves the giving out of loan to license buyers by banks. You must know to whom you give loan. More than 99% of those who rushed into the cocoa business rushed out. Many rushed into the business because of their greedy anticipated gains, which they thought would come fast. At the end, most went into bankruptcy.

Avoid agents of business failure

  • Being a novice
  • Greediness
  • Desperation
  • Over ambition

These agents blinded many businesspersons against Godly progression and ideas, which may lead to loss of money, loss of property and even loss of life.

How to discover your potential

  • By instinct, you may know what you are good at or what you feel you can do. However, some may not know what to do.
  • Humanly, by counseling
  • As a Christian, you need to pray. It is necessary to view your business idea spiritually before you embark on it.

There are businesses that take off slowly, but will expand gradually and become big on the long run. Some seem to be, fast business in the beginning but has no long span. There is no talent, gift or business on earth, by which a person cannot prosper. The most important thing as a Christian is not to engage in an unrighteous business. There is the need to discover what you are good at, what you are capable of doing and what you would enjoy doing.

Today’s post shows you Christian Business Opportunities are all over the place if you open your eyes… Just smarter due diligence is necessary

Not all that glitters are gold.

“Lot pitched his tent toward Sodom” (Gen. 13:12). Guess what is in Sodom, destruction. Many businesses are like this, they look good at first glance, but the end may destroy you. Try to discover yourself, your capability and the right thing to do.

Do not look at a business, or what you are capable of doing as being small, all it takes for God to prosper you is to multiply your substance.

My point is you need to discover yourself and your potential before you embark on any business.

Whatever you lay your hand to do, do it well.
